Group Ministry
We believe God created us to live in authentic community and only then can we live the life He intends for us. Joining a group will connect you to the meaningful and life-changing relationships we all need. By sharing meals together, praying together, studying the Bible together, and serving the community together, participation in group ministry will allow you live out the mission of loving God, loving others, and making disciples.
Growth Groups
Our Growth Groups are designed to educate, equip, and empower you to become the disciple of Jesus you are called to be.
This Growth Group meets on Wednesdays at 7:00pm from September 11-November 20.
There are so many things we encounter in life that draw our attention away from Jesus. Fear, anxiety, guilt, powerlessness, and grief, just to name a few. But the presence of Jesus changes all of those things. When we get overwhelmed by life’s messes, we need to look at the transforming power Jesus offers through his life and Holy Spirit.
For 10 weeks, we’ll look at the beauty of the gospel of John through the stories of those who encountered Jesus and were dramatically changed by his presence. We’ll also be utilizing the book “Transforming Presence” by David Drury as we take a journey through the life of Jesus seen by the eyes of those who needed him most.
Community Groups
Community Groups meet weekly for 12-week semesters and are built around four expectations, which we call the ABCDs:
Accountability:
Participants can expect to be held accountable by inviting people into your life to challenge you in your faith, priorities, and relationships.
Belonging:
Participants can expect to belong to something where they feel accepted, connected, and comfortable with a group of people.
Care:
Participants can expect to be cared for by one another. In turn, participants can expect to care for those outside their group through a group service opportunity each semester.
Discipleship:
Participants can expect to engage in prayer and study of the Bible to help them live out the Christian faith.

Sundays 6-8:00pm – September 15-November 24
This Community Group, led by Charles and Debra Underhill, meets at Matt and Amy Bolling’s home in Northeast Lincoln.
This group is sermon-based and will dive deeper into the Sunday morning sermons and the biblical text to learn more, discuss application, and encourage one another to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Thursdays 6-8:00pm – September 5-November 21
This Community Group, led by Pastor Brian and Jennifer, meets at their home in Northeast Lincoln and will be engaging in a study by Francis Chan on the Gospel of Mark.
The Gospel of Mark chronicles Jesus’s journey from Galilee to Jerusalem. Along the way, the Messiah gathers a ragged band of disciples. As crowds grow and dwindle on the road to Jerusalem, only a few stick by the Suffering Savior on the road of discipleship.
In this study, you’ll be invited to walk along the ancient ways of the Master. Tracing the steps of Jesus and the Twelve through Israel, Francis explores the major themes of the Gospel of Mark, and asks: Are we willing to take this journey to embrace discipleship?
Here are a few things to note:
– limited to 8 participants
– must be able to climb stairs (the home is on the 2nd story)
– kids are welcome
D-Groups
D-Groups are gender-specific groups consisting of three to five people who meet weekly for interactive Bible reading, accountability and prayer for the lost. These groups provide a space for people to experience genuine accountability, confession of sin, deeper study of Scripture and deeper spiritual growth.
